Assignment 6

Location, Location, Location. I never really understood that saying. Sure, I get the importance of Location, Placement, Enviornment, etc. but I never understood that phrase. But I Digress.

1) Under the Foliage

I feel as if this picture has a sort of Mystical connotation to it.  Feels as if I had taken a step into a different world and had turned and looked back.

2)OMINOUS BUILDING

I think I love creepy, sinister, and foreboding shots. They're just so fun to take, especially if the subject matter isn't so creepy, sinister, or foreboding in real life. Other "Ominous Shots" I took that I really like were "A blurry yet still identifiable demonic-looking gargoyle," "Shots of the Mansion that make it loom over the garden," and "Freaky Owl Statue embedded in the wall."

3) You have no idea what I had to do to get this photo

Bees. I can think of at least 3 or 4 pop culture or nerd culture quotes pertaining to bees that would make great title for this, but If I did that It would be like deciding what soda I'm going to drink when the best choice would be to cut the caffeine and just get the water. Bees and I haven't exactly been a good combination. Put me in a room with ladybugs I'll cultivate them into a little colony on my windowsill (true story, though the colony failed spectacularly), let a fly loose and I'll be annoyed and hunt the fly down by sitting alone in the darkness and waiting (that was so successful it has become my standard procedure). Put me in the path of a bee and I'll jump the the side with a frightened gasp. my past experiences with bees haven't been pleasant (not going into it). So I'm taking pictures, see a lovely garden to take pics in and...

Bees. Lots of them. I am proud I didn't go catatonic on spot, but damn this one bee... it was huge, knocked another bee of a flower so it could have it. I just had to get a picture. It didn't take as long to do as I thought It would, but there was no way this photo was not ending up on here after that.

so that was my friday at the arboretum.
