Location, Location, Location. I never really understood that saying. Sure, I get the importance of Location, Placement, Enviornment, etc. but I never understood that phrase. But I Digress.
1) Under the Foliage
I feel as if this picture has a sort of Mystical connotation to it. Feels as if I had taken a step into a different world and had turned and looked back.
2)OMINOUS BUILDING
I think I love creepy, sinister, and foreboding shots. They're just so fun to take, especially if the subject matter isn't so creepy, sinister, or foreboding in real life. Other "Ominous Shots" I took that I really like were "A blurry yet still identifiable demonic-looking gargoyle," "Shots of the Mansion that make it loom over the garden," and "Freaky Owl Statue embedded in the wall."
3) You have no idea what I had to do to get this photo
Bees. I can think of at least 3 or 4 pop culture or nerd culture quotes pertaining to bees that would make great title for this, but If I did that It would be like deciding what soda I'm going to drink when the best choice would be to cut the caffeine and just get the water. Bees and I haven't exactly been a good combination. Put me in a room with ladybugs I'll cultivate them into a little colony on my windowsill (true story, though the colony failed spectacularly), let a fly loose and I'll be annoyed and hunt the fly down by sitting alone in the darkness and waiting (that was so successful it has become my standard procedure). Put me in the path of a bee and I'll jump the the side with a frightened gasp. my past experiences with bees haven't been pleasant (not going into it). So I'm taking pictures, see a lovely garden to take pics in and...
Bees. Lots of them. I am proud I didn't go catatonic on spot, but damn this one bee... it was huge, knocked another bee of a flower so it could have it. I just had to get a picture. It didn't take as long to do as I thought It would, but there was no way this photo was not ending up on here after that.
so that was my friday at the arboretum.

Environmental Portraiture
Photos from the next assignment:
1) Andy on the Drums
My brother Andy on the drums. This shot came out better than I thought it would because the basement lighting is terrible. the environment itself is sparse, but I feel that conveys my brother's feeling towards his hobby. only the essentials, no distractions. a lamp, a fan, and a whole lot of musical equipment stored in their little of the basement.
2) Nightly Television
Yeah, even the bird is looking at the TV. despite liking the composition of the piece, and it captures a moment where everything settles down for the evening.

The Color Assignment
This 3rd assignment was actually quite tricky due to the images of your life that it had to include, but I am sure I accomplished both parts of the assignment. I chose the color RED.
1) My Grandmother
Not much to say on this one. My Grandmother treated my family to Ben's. The place happened to work well color-wise for the project. note the red ceiling. and Grandma's red shirt. I like this one because she isn't looking directly at the camera unlike in the other pictures of her.
2) There Was A Fire
When we were leaving Ben's, These guys were out front. The store next door had a small fire. Here the Firefighters are getting ready to return to the station.
3) Flowers
Also outside Ben's. A lady got in the shot. Since she was wearing red, she actually helped the pictures composition in my opinion.
BONUS
Just missed this STOP Sign. I like the composition though.
